Meet our Instructors

At Dogwood Dog Training and Sport Center, we are very lucky to have some of the best trainers in the United States. All of the instructors at Dogwood have many years of dog training experience and have worked with many different breeds. Dogwood instructors train and compete in other canine events including agility, herding, tracking, retriever hunt tests and field trials. Training for multiple events gives Dogwood instructors a wide range of insights and experiences in dog training unequaled at any other dog training facility. So if it is a well mannered pet to a top competition dog, Dogwood is the place to train!

Debby Quigley (Owner)
Experience: 20 years
Breeds: Border Collies, Shelties, Siberian Husky and Golden Retrievers
Activities: Obedience, Agility, Herding, Retriever Hunt Tests, Freestyle, Tracking.
Accomplishments: over a dozen - 200 Scores, Placed 3 times at AKC Invitational, 2nd Place in Super Dog at 1999 Pup-Peroni Regional, 1st Place in Novice Division at 1998 Pup-Peroni Classic, and placed 1st in Utility Division at 2000 Detroit World Series. Placed 4th at 1995 Central Regional in Novice, High Score 1995 Central Regional and High Super at the 2000 Classic. 4 OTChs and a MACH. #1 Border Collie 1998. Over 100 High in Trials and 100 High Combines. Numerous titles in Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Herding and Hunting venues.

Instructors

Judy Ramsey (Behavioral Specialist)
Experience: 25 years
Breeds: Shelties, Doberman, Keeshond, Papillon, Mini Wire Dachshund, Belgian Tervs, Border Collies
Activities: Active in Obedience, Agility and Rally. Member APDT and NADOI. Participated in therapy dog work in a multitude of venues since 1982.
Accomplishments: Numerous AKC Obedience and Agility titles on many breeds including an OTCH, nationally ranked Belgian Terv, Dog World awards, placements at Pup-Peroni Classics, and placed first in the Open Division at the 2001 Detroit World Series.
DeNise Clemens (Office Manager)
Experience: 18 years
Breeds: Shetland Sheepdogs, Collie, Pomeranian
Activities: Active in Obedience, Agility and Rally. I have trained and shown in Freestyle, member of APDT, AKC Registered CGC Tester. Have 10 years experience teaching dog obedience classes starting in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Accomplishments: AKC Companion Dog (CD) title with three shelties, AKC Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) title with two shelties, AKC Utility Dog (UD) title, AKC Utility Dog Excellent (UDX) Title, Dog World Awards, participated in Pup-peroni Reginal competition. AKC Novice, Open and Excellent agility titles. AKC Rally Excellent Titles with two shelties.
Sandra Marr
Experience: 35 years
Breeds: English Cockers, Labrador Retriever, Dobermans, German Shorthaired Pointers, German Wirehaired Pointers
Activities: Obedience, Rally, Conformation, Agility, Tracking & Field.
Accomplishments: AKC registered CGC Evaluator, AKC Obedience & Rally judge. Multiple AKC obedience titles with Dog World awards, High in Trials, High Combineds, & 2 OTCHs. Nationally ranked #1 obedience English Cockers. Several tracking and field working titles on multiple breeds. AX and MXJ in Agility. Numerous conformation CHs in U.S., Mexico, International & World competition (requires working points) on multiple breeds.
Jan Nuzzo
Experience: 27 years
Breeds: Mixed breeds, Golden Retrievers and Vizslas.
Activities: Tracking, Pointing Dog Hunt Tests, Agility and Conformation as well as Obedience.
Accomplishments: Titles in AKC,CKC and UKC - Obedience (all levels), Tracking ( multipleTD/TDX), Agility (all levels), Rally, Pointing Dog Hunt Tests (multiple JHs) as well as Conformation (multiple CHs). Proud of my home-bred performance dogs. Formerly with Therapy Dogs International "Canine Company" in NY. Volunteer with Vizsla Rescue. AKC registered CGC tester. Active in local Obedience, All-Breed, Specialty Breed and Tracking clubs.
Suki Mooney
Experience: 8 yrs.
Breeds: Labrador Retrievers and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
Activities: Obedience and Agility
Accomplishments: Novice, Open and Excellant titles in Agility.
Tracie Kolnsberg
Experience: 6 years
Breeds: Belgian Malinois, Labrador Retrievers, Collies and Mix Breeds
Activities: After showing horses competitively for over 15 years, Tracie decided to join the fun of showing and training dogs. Tracie currently competes with her beloved rescue Collie Scribble in Obedience and Rally and plans to compete with him next year in Agility. Tracie is also enjoying training her sweet Malinois Peanut, and plans to compete with her in Obedience, Rally and Agility events in the next year.
Accomplishments: AKC CD, CDX, RE and CGC titles; FFX Obedience Gold Award, F&F #1 Novice A Obedience Collie (2005) and F&F #4 Open A Obedience Collie (2006)
Gayle Mahar
Experience: 5 years
Breeds: Bassett Hounds
Activities: Agility, Obedience,and Tracking.
Accomplishments: Championship title, tracking title, Rally title and Agility titles.
Pending Sheryl Powers
Experience: 19 years
Breeds: German Shepherd dog
Activities: Obedience, agility, going to movies
Accomplishments: Earned over 40 titles from AKC and UKC including a UDX and a U-OCH in obedience. Also earned 2 AXs, 2 AXJs, and 2 U-ACHXs in agility, 2 HTs in herding and 1 TD in tracking. Active member and obedience instructor at Companion Dog School of Tulsa before moving to Houston.
Pending Bonny Crews
Experience: Lifelong involvement with dogs; 3 ½ years as veterinary technician; 13 years in dog sports
Breeds: Border Collies, Border Terrier
Activities: Obedience, Agility, Rally
Accomplishments: Titles in AKC Obedience, Agility, Rally and Conformation, and in NAFA Flyball

Assistants

Kathy Daniel
Experience: 30 years
Breeds: Pembroke Welsh Corgis and Vizsla
Activities: AKC Pointer Hunt test, Obedience, Tracking, Conformation.
Accomplishments: 8 CDs and 2 CDXs on Pembroke Welsh Corgis. TD's on five Pembrokes, finished 9 Conformation Champions, and bred 6 Conformation Champions. Junior Hunter title on a Vizsla.
Christy Bergeon
Experience: 20 years
Breeds: Schipperke, German Shepherd dog and Border Collie
Activities: Search and Human Remains Recovery, Obedience, Tracking.
Accomplishments: VST tracking title, certified recovery dogs, conformation CHs, AKC obedience titles.
Linda Hunter
Experience: 16 years in dog training, 4 years as obedience instructor, 3-1/2 years as vet tech
Breeds: Mixed breeds and Border Collies
Activities: Obedience, Agility, Rally, and Therapy dog.
Accomplishments: Numerous UKC and ASCA obedience titles including a U-OCH; HIT's, HC's, and DWA; AKC Rally titles; ASCA and NADAC agility titles; 1st place Novice 1994 UKC Premier; 5th place Novice 1995 UKC Top Gun; 5th place Open 1996 UKC Top Gun; Highest Scoring Mixed Breed 1996 Detroit World Series; participated in multiple Cycle and Pupperoni Regional competitions.

Junior Apprentice

michelle Michelle Hicks
Experience: Michelle is sixteen, graduating a year early this year, and loves to train dogs, train in all of her spare time. She likes any type of competitive dog sport, big dogs (mixed or pure.)
Breeds: Anatolian shepherd mix, a golden retriever and keeshond mix, and a chinook mix.
Activities: Obedience, Agility, Rally, and Therapy
